Will filing an auto claim cause my policy to be canceled?

Will filing an auto claim cause my policy to be canceled?

Generally the answer is no. One claim is not a cause for concern on the part of insurance companies. But a pattern of claims may result in a premium increase or cancellation. So if you have three claims in three years, for example, they will be viewed differently than having only one claim. Individual claims that are suggestive of gross negligence can also result in significant premium increase or cancellation. An example might be an auto accident accompanied by a reckless driving or driving under the influence conviction.

We work with many carriers at Emmanuel Insurance, in the event your insurance is being cancelled due to claims, we have the ability to find another carrier so there is continuous coverage. This may come at a higher premium and depending on circumstances and may require you to obtain insurance with a non-standard auto insurance carrier.
