Get to Know Stephanie C. Sherman

July 2025 - This month we'd like to welcome Stephanie C. Sherman to the Emmanuel Insurance Team! Stephanie joined us in April as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. Interested in learning more about Stephanie? Make sure to keep reading for 10 fun facts!
- Where is your favorite place to visit on vacation, or your favorite thing to do when you have time off?
Give me mountains, cool, misty mornings, and a cabin with questionable Wi-Fi. There's something magical about breathing in crisp air and pretending I'm in a coffee commercial.
- What is the weirdest, most unorthodox, or most interesting job you've ever had?
Working in a grocery store where I had to enter each price by hand—yes, every. single. item in a very full basket. Let's just say I have a deep appreciation for barcodes now.
- When you were 10, what did you see yourself being when you grew up?
A veterinarian—because what could be better than spending all day with animals and making them feel better?
- What is a book you've read that you'd recommend?
Let's just say my actual favorite is best discussed in a book club with a strong "no judgment" policy. In the meantime, Atomic Habits is a solid (and safe) choice!
- If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Dwight Schrute from The Office. It'd be weird, intense, and oddly educational.
- What is one surprising or interesting fact about you that people may not know about?
I can name all 50 states in alphabetical order... but only if there's theme music playing.
- If you had a personal motto or catchphrase, what would it be?
Progress, not perfection—but coffee first.
- If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
I'd love to instantly master OneDrive, SharePoint, and all the other digital mazes we navigate daily. Let's be honest—sometimes it feels like these platforms were built with a secret handshake only younger generations know. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just trying to share a file without broadcasting our weekend plans to the entire organization. Becoming fluent in these tools would save time, reduce stress, and maybe even earn me honorary IT status.
- What advice would you give to someone who is interested in joining the Emmanuel team?
Come ready to be part of something meaningful. It's a place where collaboration, care, and purpose come together in a really special way. Emmanuel values relationships, shared mission, and showing up for one another. Be open to learning, bring your unique perspective, there's plenty of grace and support as you get the hang of things. What matters most is your heart for the work and your willingness to grow with the team.
- What are you enjoying the most about being a part of the Emmanuel team?
Honestly? The people. It's a team of smart, compassionate, and genuinely supportive individuals. There's a genuine sense of "we're in this together," and that kind of camaraderie makes even the busiest days feel purposeful. It's rare to find a group that's this committed to both excellence and kindness, and I'm grateful to be part of it.
